I built a little app to create circular stairways for a map I was working on, and despite not being a programmer it seems to be pretty stable, so I figured I'd put it out there in case anyone else could find a use for it.

It's a single Windows executable that generates a .map file that can be imported, the only big pre-req should be having the .NET 2.0 framework installed.

Update: In case you don't care to read through the end of the thread, this tool now does normal staircases and has some support for basic railing/bannisters.

Update #2: I found myself wanting to make arcs and holes, so support for those are built in now as well (you can think of an arc like a stone arch, and a hole like a bevel + cap, except made out of brushes instead of patch meshes.)

You are a gentleman, a scholar and a mind-reader.

Works under wine on ubuntu too - thanks a lot!

Good news about wine, I wish I knew enough to write something cross-platform in the first place (or a Radiant plug-in,) but I'm happy the linux guys have some way to make use of it if they want in spite of my limited skillset

If you're considering extending this it might be nice if the default texture was common/caulk and possibly make the brushes detail rather than structural but I'm just nitpicking now, these things are easy to change using a text editor or in radiant.

I like the radiant plugin idea.

Thanks John
