Unbelievable Urban Terror maps on Wolfenstein Enemy Territory

Hello guys.

Maybe its not important, but its damn pretty impressive for me ofc. While browsing various forums and chat-room I saw and pictures where 80% of maps are loaded in Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory (don't know what fork or who created it, but I can vouch that it isn't ET:XreaL branch)

There are some lighting and/or gamma problems but at pictures what I saw, now dont want to be or to look like troll but it show bigger FPS with more then Urban Terror 4.1 and Urban Terror HD. And I personally don't believe it's only texture changes.

Pretty cool, I used to pull maps from various Q-based games and test maps under each others games with some quite funny and interesting results especially with silly renderer tweaks on ioquake. I did try out swim and turnpike with ioquake3 a while back and it looked significantly better then it does on urban terror vanilla.
I'd be interested to see you use the maps under ET:Xreal unfortunately I dont have URT at the moment to pull it apart and try it out myself.

i suggest FS lock the assets of HD somehow and release a mapping pack for the mappers who want to use the allowed "default" textures when it is released



because as of right now, you can almost build an entirely new game with all the same sounds/textures

it's not my intention to be acid...least with one of my idols but i must de disagree here

Most of times when someone do something like this is not with the intention of "stealing" something..., it's just an UrT fanatic who plays other game.

there are UrT really good versions of de_train, de_dust2 and de_dust in Urt..., not done by thieves, if not for fans.

But your engine, unlike W:ET has been changed since 2002/3 :laugh:
As for other engines, darkplaces and Xreal wipe the floor so far and have been doing for years, work with more then just 1 game and the former very open :cool:

2012 - Year of the Urt engine.. maybe :tongue:
