Thank You.

We still wait for extensive tutorial/article about layout in Urban Terror. I'm not gonna say the name of developer, who we expect to do that :)

I can't afford 3dsmax, so I downloaded Blender. What will be different between the two?

Is there a download link available for the video? So I could download it once and play it multiple times rather than using youtube again and again?

Nice video Frankie.
I got a question about the texture painting tool. Can i texture an object and then use max's painting ability to add some dirt to it? For example i have a news stand and i want to add some old worn out posters on the side or paint in some scratches or rust.
Can i add this on top of the basic material and will the basic material be saved along with the newly added changes.

If you need help, there's this possibility for many students (although I believe it isn't for everyone):
Join "Autodesk Education Community"
Registration--->> choose your school.
Download 3d studio max student version of Autodesk with cd-key(software incorporates all the functionality)
The student license: at a cost of £ 0 / € 0 for not commercial use

Is little but it is something

we are more interested in sparking mapmaking back to the levels of the good old days.

Which old days?

There is a fantastic, vibrant, enthusiastic group of 3rd party mappers on the CMM forum, probably 50 people making maps/models/textures for urt who would say that the spark of map making is alive and well.

A fair portion of these people use linux, or mac and are being sidelined by these articles and the official tutorials.

These things suggest that only windows users can participate in this brave new world and if you're not a windows user with the latest version of 3dsmax, you cannot participate.

If you really want to encourage more mapping activity here you should focus on giving quality feedback to map releases and constructive, encouraging advice to new mappers.

Oh, and perhaps provide some tutorials for linux and mac users - just to give the impression that these platforms are supported.

Perhaps I can suggest searching & downloading of free youtube downloader , there are a lot versions & not everyone works , so must find manually .
If not the first it would be the second or third site ( I don't know how you ''see'' the web , but I suggest ) .
