Hey all,

I bring you the 5th of Delirium's mini challenges, the key thing is to remember its not a competition but a challenge to try boost some creativity among the mappers.
Each weekend I'll be posting a topic on a map object you could create and the challenge is to be as creative as possible while still being realistic, the map you make shouldn't be something you spend a lot of time on and commit to, you can take as long as you want of course but in reality its not something to spend all week on.

The rules are simple.
* I post a link to the download base .map, you are not allowed to map outside this box. You can however texture this box however you wish.
* Map lighting, texturing, compile and even the client you use is all up to the mapper, you can use all that is available.
* You have until the next weekend competition to create what ever the object is and you don't need to upload a map, only ONE screenshot of the fully textured map ingame.
* Post your shot in this thread when ever its done and I will announce the winner in the first post of next weeks challenge :)
* You can enter up to a maximum of 3 times per weekend.
* You can choose the best angle to take your screenshot from, but please only post 1 image per entry
* New requirement, if you post a model just post how many tris the object is (for curiosity reasons)

The object of this weekend is 'a fountain', this can be created however you like it to be, a normal water fountain, a wall fountain, a fountain with or without water, it can even be modelled if you wish. Background details will be ignored, but any detail you do add in try to keep the details relevant.
Also this is optional but if you would like to release your sources I'm sure other mappers would appreciate it(just post it along with your screenshot)

JustMe: Your one was quite unique and I liked the idea, the thing which bugged me were the textures. You say you don't know how so here it is :) Ctrl + Shift then MB1 and select the texture. Then press S and edit the rotation option. +1 for doing something different.
JohnnyEngligh: I liked yours :) it's simple but its exactly what you'd expect to see from a door, my only tinge was the width of the door looks a bit funny.
NulL: I know you didn't enter but your disqualified for not using the map required :) But damn that looks classy, very nice dude how many tris?
Valk: Nice job, the hinges look nice, the wood is a bit too new to fit in, but other than that I like it! how many tris?
DagF: I liked the idea yours had, having the door slightly ajar made it look nice, the lighting let yours down a bit but I liked the vent bit down the bottom. Good job, tris count on yours?

I don't have a favourite for this week, you all did a pretty decent job so you all deserve some cookies!

Just announcing incase you didn't read. 2 new changes to the rules

* If you post a model just post how many tris the object is (for curiosity reasons)

I will be submitting my Fountain tomorrow :)

Here's mine, 224 faces, 116 vertices after optimised - probably.

After I made it I added water using the particle do dar, I need to make a better droplet though... and perhaps blend differently.



I've included a map with all the assets, the model in .ase format and the .max file, feel free to drop this into your urthd alpha urthdalpha1 folder, fire up the urthd alpha and :

/devmap johns_weekend_fountain

PS. It will work in 4.1 but looks a bit shoddy

PPS. Picola made the marble texture using gimp, all other textures by rayne

That is not a model, all made in Radiant baby :)
