Incorrect stats Rate Topic: -----

I first noticed that the B3 headshot counter on UrT4 CTF EAST was lazy, picking up about 1/8 of the headdies. I thought that maybe helmet hits didn't count. Then I noticed that the esc>player>stats info was very bare. A good 60-80% of shots/hits weren't getting picked up by the game, not just the B3 bot.

Here's a skeetshoot 2012 headshot run. I counted 90 (+3, 1 non headshot kill) headshots and the game stats registered 13.
Here's a demo and stats screenies taken right at the end of that demo.

You can see just from the screen shots the values are way off: 94 kills and only 28 hits.

I've noticed this outside of skeet and without bots on other servers as well, this was just the cleanest example I could display.

4.1 had some discrepancies in stats, but nowhere near this extreme.

I also got that problem with q3admin_mod and I found the reason for it. In 4.2 the values of headhsots and helmet hits have been changed from 0 and 1 to 1 and 4.

Log entries in 4.2 (4=Helmet,1=Head):
12:56 Hit: 8 7 4 5: PlayerA hit PlayerB in the Helmet
14:14 Hit: 8 7 1 4: PlayerA hit PlayerB in the Head

Log entries in 4.1 (1=Helmet,0)Head):
10:53 Hit: 4 10 1 19: PlayerA hit PlayerB in the Helmet
9:55 Hit: 8 4 0 8: PlayerC hit PlayerA in the Head

As far as I can find, [the neck bones connect to the:] award doesn't happen at all in 4.2.

Did meaning of these numbers in the logs actually change? Can someone from FS confirm?

Is this related to the pouches on the legs registering as kevlar kits?
Are there different angles/patches of the hitmesh that register hits [in the stats] and some that don't?

And why does it only register that it fired 108 shots when it's much closer to 300-400?
