There is no file named 'authkey', or anything like it anywhere, in any of the folders, on a Linux Mint Debian Install.
Still no fix here :(

Maybe you shall try to search in your profil in the site instead .
And by ''the site'' I mean www.urbanterror.info .

In linux (Ubuntu 12.10), the authkey file is located at:
~/.q3a/q3ut4/

If you're using the terminal you could
gedit authkey
from that folder. If instead you're using the Nautilus file browser or similar you'll have to CTRL-H to view hidden folders first.

Hope that solves your problem!

The authkey file on linux is in /home/youruser/.q3a/q3ut4/ , if the file don't exist you must create (into q3ut4 folder) the file and paste the numbers/letter before that are copy from your profile.

i've tried evrything and now i'm seriously fed up :/ really hate the 4.2 version.i used the 4.1 version and now when i tried to run urtupdater it says error: mscp100.dll missing so installed the C++ library for 64bit windows but it still says msvcp100.dll missing so i downloaded the msvcp100.dll for dllfiles.com now it says error:0077c00xb something like that..so the main thing is urTupdater doesnt work on my system..so i thought of downloading the 4.2.013 version..downloaded it..now i cant login..i have my auth key but appying it keeps sending me back to the previous menu..i've also tried putting the auth key in the auth key file in q3ut4 file..dint work. what am i supposed to do..i'm strating to hate urT for updating..ruined my game :/ please help

What exactly happens when you press Apply? What happens when you start the game with the key pasted in the authkey file? No error messages? Nothing in the console? (Press Shift+Esc to open, type /screenshotJPEG, and upload the screenshot somewhere, like BayImg or imgur.) Does /auth-set <key> ( as in /auth-set 5A7AKAV47ARAB4VAN4PA6ANAR4HAPAD4 ) work?
