The testing time of HD alpha has passed, and we gathered the data and feedback we were looking for. Nothing was deleted, but the forum is hidden for now because we want people to post in the 4.1 / 4.2 sections.

Uh huh.

Pretty much every forum software allows locking of not just threads but whole sections; so does IPBoard, as evidenced by the old 4.0 subforum. I’m sure the endless influx of posts by baffled players who mistakenly tried to play HD alpha strained the forum to its limits and forced you to take drastic measures, but locking would leave all posts readable and searchable — pretty awesome really, kinda the point of web at large.

Nope, waiting has not made this issue any less annoying — searching for “glock”, 21 hits out of 38 are inaccessible. Since I didn’t find the thread I was looking for, these are the most relevant hits, too. Do users have to save a local copy of every single thread that might become useful later?
