Hi,
We love URT and we like playing with players around the world. Unfortunately, due to some government restriction related to VOIP, one of our major connection provider at Bangladesh has blocked ports ranging from 22000 to 32000.

The default port URT runs at is 27960. Many of us cannot even connect to game server for this reason. There are two remedies, one is to run the game server at a smaller number port (like we run our UrTBD server at 2222), but this option might not be good enough. The other is port forwarding, which means you can still run your server at whatever port you want, and we will be able to connect to your URT server through 2222.

Server admins are requested to check this bash script and then run it on their Linux server to enable port forwarding.

#!/bin/bash

#<- this is a comment.
newport=2222
forwardport=27960
sudo iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -p udp --dport $newport -j REDIRECT --to-ports $forwardport

#To check whether this rule works, type this command
#sudo iptables -nL -v --line-numbers -t nat

#if you want to disable it, simply type this command
#sudo iptables -t nat -D PREROUTING -p udp --dport $newport -j REDIRECT --to-ports $forwardport

#Written by Zed, modified and maintained by LordAmit of UrTBD Clan.
#Correction, iptable checking commannd provided by Bunny of Valhalla Clan.

If you decide to do so, please reply under this post with your Server IP so that we get to know that we will be able to access your server through 2222.

Thanks goes to Zed of UrTBD clan for preparing the bash script :D

In case you want a direct download link of the script, here it is:

PLZ tell me wether u succeed with connecting and playing.

If you want to do something for your people:
We could redirect (pipe) UDP traffic to else favourite servers.
Youre invited to knit some php control web interface with us.
We have bandwidth, traffic, subnets and cookies.

We unfourtionatly have high latency to. Most likely.
Our Equipment is located at de-cix.
Thats cool ping for Europe, maybe USA.

####PS
Ah, whatever we do, we would talk to the target server owners first...

Hi Wurst! I have played at your server before, good people - good game :) We will be happy to play at your servers! I am fortunate not to use a connection which blocked the port range, but my friends are not lucky enough.

About the script - there is a very small mistake - it actually removes the rule of forwarding from 22222 to 2222; if it exists. If there are no such rules - it won't do anything. I have modified it, and here is a direct link of the script we wrote.

https://dl.dropboxus...rt/forwarder.sh

It contains three types of commands, the first command is about setting the forwarding rule, the second one is to check if the port rule is properly set and the third one is for removing the existing rule.

Once again, thank you - am on my way to register at your forum :)

Edit:
I have tested it - and it works! Thank you Wurst! :)
We have also contacted some target server owners, but we thought we should give a shout out at urban terror forum as well.

Hi Wurst,
We have not started playing in 4.2 servers regularly yet.
SIP proxy is used for telecommunication as far as I know, is it somehow related to Urban Terror 4.2?
