"persistent" positions is still not working and its still set to 1. plz fix <3

saving then disconnecting then coming back to be able to load that same position is what is supposed to be happening right? cuz that is not happening.

I think it's something that server admins can decide to use or not.
But that will take ressources of your host ...

ok i think u are misunderstanding.

1. I am the one managing/updating this server (|WC|'s Jumpers Insanity) :)
2. the .pos files are 90 bytes tops. doesnt do much to the server.

according to the server cfg, they are supposed to STAY saved. even after saving using "/save" (yes, you still have to use that and /load) and leaving the server.
the problem is that the .pos files are not being loaded by the client/server (i think). even though they are there.

that in order to clarify...
1. what ive been asking for since position saving was introduced in 4.2
.
2. if that is indeed the process that is supposed to be happening if that setting is set to 1.

Do let me know if this doesnt help you.

balafre, the problem isn’t that the cvars haven’t been set; as Mr. Saiyan said, the .pos files are being written but not read for some reason. I couldn’t load on Insanity either, so it’s not caused by some weird client issue (the feature is still working perfectly on the QA test server, running stock .014 at the moment).

Aelmiks: your position will only be saved when you do /save in the console. Simply saving the last spot you were seen at before ragequitting would be asking for trouble:-P

Heh..... Mr. Saiyan :) i like that :P

Ya, Insanity is running stock 0.14 too but now Im thinking its a permissions issue on the server side with the files. the map folders are 777 and the .pos files are 666. idk if that is not right or not...I even changed my .pos file to 755 and 777.... and it still doesnt work. so im out of ideas :(
