I was waiting with impatience for servers work. And yesterday it happened. Also, I upgraded game with it Updater module. But, I've faced problems - game freezes after every 5 mins. Sometimes it unfreezes, sometimes I have to kill it, and once I even had to restart my computer. What's wrong? There were no problems before.

Ubuntu 12.04, [AMD/ATI] RS880M [Mobility Radeon HD 4225/4250]

If you need more info, please tell me, what I should show you. Please, help me! Thanks in advance!

hm.
from which version did you upgrade?
i could imagine that udating from a version <.009 would cause problems. there was a UrTU update with that version.

also posting your config and the console log (into CODE tags please :) ) would help.
there is a console command ( [i]\logfile 1[\i] ) to enable the log.

things you could try out anyway:
[*]check the md5s of your .pk3s (or just redownload the full .zip if that doesnt take too long)
[*]set the videomode to 640x400, just to make sure its not your system

also downloads of UrT are also availible at urbanzone.
Sorry for my bad spelling - I am still asleep. :)

Oh, I'll try to post at least half of all info, which you asked to )
My current version of game - 4.2.015-4ug
Where I can find all correct pk3 md5sum? So, I'll check them manually.
Config too big, maybe show you some part or via some fileshare?
And if all so bad, I can re-install game, it will take less than hour, but I'm afraid it cause loosing of downloaded maps that are not "in box".

015 is outdated

I've checked md5sums - OK.
But, with version some strange thing, updater shows that it 018 version, already up to date, but:

dpkg -l | grep urban
ii urban-terror 4.2.015-4ug Urban Terror 4.2

Why it so? And what I have to do now?

You probably have installed UrT from the coringao's Debian/Ubuntu package (or similar). It seems that he packaged just the files for version 4.2.015 and the package has not been updated since more than one year.

I would recommend you to uninstall that old ubuntu package with
sudo dpkg -P urban-terror

and then try to install (in a user folder, for example ~/games/UrT/) the official UrTUpdater or, if that does not work, to use the Full Game Download files as seen in the official downloads page.
Don't worry about your configuration files, extra maps, etc., they will be preserved as they are stored in a user folder (~/.q3a/q3ut4/) different from the package folders.

P.S.: By the way, instead of packaging the full files for Debian/Ubuntu, it would be much more usefull a .deb package for the UrTUpdater with the correct dependencies needed to run updater and game.

I installed it from official UrTUpdater, but now it even doesn't want to run. Now I'm trying other ways.

Yes, but you already need to uninstall the old package with "sudo dpkg -P urban-terror", because if you previously installed it, probably you are launching that old version instead the new from the UrTUpdater. After uninstalling the old package, go to the user folder where you installed the UrTUpdater and from there launch: ./Quake3-UrT.x86_64 (maybe you could need to change execution permissions on that file).

Creating a package is easy. Maintain it during years is the real work. Why people only do the easy part ? :-)
You are right, but at least if someone wanted to create a package, it would be better to create it for the UrTUpdater properly, so to include the dependencies for running the updater itself and the game, and so that the updater downloads the files into a user folder (not in the system folders). The updater is updated itself less frequently. Even the package creator could suggest to Barbatos to include the packaging files (a Debian subfolder) in the github sources of the updater.

When I said, that I have done it, like you told, I really did it with uninstall. Now, I installed it from getdeb repository, it freezes like previous, but I see nothing in log, I run it:
urbanterror > urtlog.log

And found place, where I got freeze and died:

SillyBirra was MP5K spammed without mercy by Sergius.
^1Sergius^7 has taken the ^4Blue^7 flag!
You were hit in the Left Upper Leg by CowardlyBirra for 20% damage.
You were hit in the Right Lower Leg by CowardlyBirra for 17% damage.
You hit CowardlyBirra in the Left Upper Leg for 15% damage.
You hit CowardlyBirra in the Vest for 20% damage.
You hit CowardlyBirra in the Right Upper Leg for 15% damage.
^1Sergius^7 dropped the ^4Blue^7 flag!
You were hit in the Helmet by CowardlyBirra for 51% damage.
Sergius played 'catch the shiny bullet' with CowardlyBirra's LR-300 rounds.
CowardlyBirra had 12% health.

As you can see, I have no info about freeze, so, game was going without me. After some tricks, like change TTY to 1, and again to X (TTY 7), game unfreezes, and I quit it via menu. I have no idea, what to do else.
