- If something is listed as a suggestion, it does not mean it will be added, but just that we are aware the community wishes it.

Small tweaks:

  • Auto reload: YES in options = when no ammo you will auto-reload, or like in quake a litle signal. If set to NO it wil not auto-reload.
  • Hotkey comands like "+scores" but as "+stats" or "+awards" so you can quickly bring up those menu's and press escape to exit
  • sv_autodemo - auto record serverside demos of everyone when in matchmode
  • Add mnemonics for g_gametype
  • Buff the HK grenade launcher direct hits
  • Allow server admins the possibility to display color codes in player names
  • Allow server admins the possibility to disable votes easily with one CVAR
  • Allow server admins the possibility to set infinite ammo on
  • Allow server admins the possibility to disable weapon recoil (spray)
  • Mute/ignore/tell/poke/forcesub option in menus (tickbox)
  • Add a '/me' shortcut in the controls menu
  • Add a master volume regulator
  • Add more KillSound options
  • Add g_gungamekills to set the needed amount of kills per weapon to a higher value than 1.


Suggestions:

  • Enable notoriety based on gametime and more (Blapecool is thinking about it)
  • Fix the stats, and why not allow stats to be recorded somewhere so you can consult it after the game
  • Ignore the Q3 colour codes when sorting by name the Server List
  • maplist command: outputs the maps that the current server has available
  • Fix flashnades and add them back in
  • Adding a Zombie gametype
  • Adding a full stand alone working Knockout gametype
  • Implement more than 2 teams on a same map.
  • Make throwing knives work as well as on 4.1
  • Make a tutorial demo
  • New item: steroids / stamina pack
  • Improve the HUD for spectators to get a better streaming/shoutcasting scene
  • Enhancing the Server Info button (thread)
  • Allow server admins to disable fall damage on ladders
  • Allow players to boot back nades when in air
  • Add a cg_votepos command to display the vote box somewhere else on the HUD
  • Redesign those 1999 style menus
  • Enhance sv_pure to be able to cutomize menus, killsounds and more.

If possible, I'd like to see burst mode made to fire 1, 2, up to 3 rounds when trigger is held.
Not 3 bullets every time, except for UMP's SPAM mode.

As far as I can tell, lowering the Colt's spread/recoil to just slightly more than the Beretta would give it a niche. It's weakness is just inaccuracy with rapid fire. Maybe treat it's spread like an M4 on semi-auto.

Right now the Beretta is a laser and a severe punisher for people without helmets.
The DE is a wrecking ball simply doing the most damage of any semi auto, but for 7 rounds. Highly accurate when fired slowly or with a laser.
The Colt already does the high helmet damage and with more ammo (and slightly faster reload than the DE?) it is poised to be a better option than the Beretta for armored targets, and more accurate than the DE at a faster firing rate for picking off helmets; but it is too inaccurate to be either past a small range.


I have a silly-huge wall of text in the QA board about all the ways I hate the Glock.

To sum it up, it mostly just doesn't suit my style.
I feel it's huge weakness is it's reload time, but because it can spam 3 rounds that will kill an unarmored target in 1 full torso spray it can't really reload any faster without being ridiculous for a handgun.
I think it's balanced where it is like the Negev and the HK69, into a narrow window. It punishes the unarmored and is an all around bad idea for armor. Maybe if it had 100% head damage in SEMI but dropped (no helmet) headshot damage in SPAM... Maybe a little faster reload.

hmm I like the Colt, it feels like a Beretta and DE hybrid. "Deretta". It is the pistol i do best with at least. Out of all the pistols i think the Glock is the worst.
Maybe the Glock could behave like a M4 pistol or give Glock the Colt specs and treat Colt as M4 on semi-auto.

  • Update the default control settings. e for sprint and c for crouch stand out for me in particular as being a hard configuration for new players. There should also be a default bind for dropping the flag in ctf.
  • Bring back the demo that shows the movements. It's sad to see someone review the game over a few minutes and never see what makes urban terror unique.

What keys do you think e and c should be replaced with? Maybe we can have different control presets.

I'm not sure if notoriety is even working. I play UrT regularly, but is not regular. :p

I still use Ctrl and Shift, and H for dropping the flag (I would use G but I'm too clumsy). I'm not sure what everyone else uses. Having different presets that you could further customise would be ideal, maybe in HD...

sv_autodemo - auto record serverside demos of everyone when in matchmode


This will cause server crashes during timeouts: during timeout timer values are being re-sent to all the clients on every frame (patch to fix another problem which has been made real quick) and this is way during timeout the demo file increase in size very fast (lots of configstrings are being updated). Now if you do the same for all the connected players on a single server (not multithreaded) you will experience huge lags until the server crashes. You can get a build of my server engine having this feature and test it out. You would need to recode all the timers properly and then you can do this feature

From a conversation I had with seven of nine on #urbanterror a few months ago:

  • Server browser should have default 'no bots' option on
  • Demo tutorial - should be a prominent button on startup, at least the first x amount of times.
  • Register button, without the 'hassle' for auth
  • A link to a youtube video with tutorial
  • A nice intro video, like Warsow has


This was based on someone posting a video review of 4.2 on Youtube, and playing only with bots and not jumping once:
