Problem, server, master

Ok guys, Im having a problem..

When I click on "Get new list" I end up with an error message: No server from master server list.

I double checked all settings, tried with master2, master3 and master but without sucess. I double checked the server settings and all is "yes, all, any, etc".

What is it? Is it a problem with master servers from urt or is it a problem with my install path only? What to do guys? Im connecting using my previous server connection that is saved in the console log.

I tried erease server.dat, autykey, pkey, etc. No luck.. :(

EDIT.: I have latest urt edition. All was working until tomorrow.

EDIT2.: when launching urt there is a massage: "AUTH ERROR: AUTH SERVER NOT AVALIABLE".

As you already cleared/checked the settings and files, we can assume that this is not the problem :P
So i would assume that your game simply has no internet connection, which is basically what the error message from your second edit tells you.

Now the real question is, why would this change so suddenly (im assuming you actually mean "this morning" instead of "tomorrow", as that wouldnt make any sense :P)
Check your firewall/AV/network settings. maybe there is a nice GUI for your firewall that tells you it blocked 1 application today...

oh. sorry. "since yesterday"...

nothing changed on my router. in fact, nothing has changed in any aspect here.. only urban terror that has no servers from master server..

hm. have you tried again today? While i dont think it was the case, FS servers may have been down.
Also i just reread your post and noticed that you still were able to play using /connect.

Are you sure your firewall didnt to an automated update, and it changed something?

Besides, what is your setup (OS and other relevant software), and how does your network setup look like schematically (as in: are you behind a bigger firewall/server, such as a company or university)?

Additionally you could run UrT with +set logfile 1 option and try and get a server list. then paste the content of the qconsole.log file created in your q3ut4/ directory somewhere. (if you dont use a paste service, please consider pasting it inside a [code] block, or inside a [spoiler])

Tried again and the same error. See print.

My setup:

Win 10 Pro x64 updated
Nothing changed on the security of the computer/os
Nothing changed on the router
Im connected by router that gets signal from an adsl company from Brazil and nothing has changed there too
No software that could block URT to connected on master servers

Ps.: I dont know how to have the log mentioned. Explain better, please?

I reinstalled Urban Terror (latest) and tried again. The same problem. Some help from devs?

this log is somewhat strange. the game was able to successfully resolve the auth and master url into an IP, but cant seem to connect to them, as a result you get an empty server list.
If we didnt try this already i would now suggest that you check your firewall logs.... :S

Try and ping auth.urbanterror.info and master.urbanterror.info (or do a traceroute) to see if you actually get a connection.

I did the tests and cleanned installed urt again. Now im with default cfg. The same problem.

Since the problem isn't solved yet, I thought I'd throw in a suggestion. To make sure you actually have a clean uninstall, please check that the working directory also is removed. On Windows 10, there are some configuration files in a second folder that gets created when you run Urban Terror. This other folder exists apart from the main program folder (and I think it is hidden). I don't use Windows but maybe someone else who uses Windows can say the location for you.

Also you could specify this working directory manually by adding a +argument when you launch Urban Terror. Like this for example:


Quake3-UrT.exe +set fs_homepath "path_to_game"



Keep the double quotes and just replace path_to_game with, for example, C:\Program Files\Urban Terror (or whatever the path is to your UrT installation folder).

This keeps everything all in one folder and makes it easier to make clean uninstalls and installs.
