cool, been a long time since i played.was cool to see the mod was still going.I hopped on a server, and don't recall the maps looking the way they do now.is it the engine being used,and limits with porting map over?

the current "live" version of the game (4.3.1) still runs on the idtech3, i think you can still run UrT as a Q3 mod as well. Map wise, there have been a few minor updates over the past years, and considering how long you were apparently gone, those possibly sum up. However, you got to ask people way better informed on UrT history to get to know all then when and wheres before 4.1. Most maps however, haven't been touched since 4.1, except for a few minor tweaks, and the recent removal of a few maps from the official pool with 4.3.0

The next major release - Urban Terror "HD" - officially named "Resurgence", will run on Unreal Engine 4, which is current/next gen. Stuff will look A LOT different on it. check out UrbanTerror's YouTube channel for info, or FrankieV's channel for a lot more technical details.
