Every idea is welcome but UrT needs a game engine update way more urgently than anything else.

Well guess why UrT HD (thats what the suggestions are for) is done in UE4? :)
Since most of the games mechanics is done already, gametypes now are the focus. Besides, cant hurt to discuss this.
Sorry for my bad spelling - I am still asleep. :)

That's great to know :)
Have you also finished the players models and the maps?

First off, im no member of FS, just a lowly mod :P
"Most of the game" is done. Models are there, weapons are there, mechanics are there. Multiplayer seems to be "working". Some maps have been fully converted (and visually upgraded). Now since i'm not in the dev team, i cant tell you how well it all goes, but it looks quite promising.
You may want to check out the dev blogs (http://www.urbanterr...nfo/news/blogs/), the official youtube channel (https://www.youtube....nTerrorOfficial), as well as the channels linked there (especially frankieV's)

Sorry I couldn't read everything ;)
The way I see it it's quite simple. Advantages of an economy system are:
- Adds variety, because you are forced to adjust to different loadouts. Also interesting uphill battles (eco rounds) that create stories
- Adds a tactical element, eco management
The disadvantage is:
- It adds complexity and delays before you get into the fragging action.
That means it goes counter to UrT's core strength of simplicity and is not really a natural fit. As something optional though, I wouldn't rule it out.
Generally eco systems are a good fit for tactical shooters. UrT isn't a tactical shooter, but it can masquerade as one.
