I am running  on a mac and just installed urbanterror, before i join a server it goes back to the main menu and says hunk_alloc failed on 33554432... I tried changing the set com_hunkmegs to different numbers and it doesnt work, same error message comes up.. can some one help me, I wana play real bad!

u need to change com_hunkmegs to 256 in all cfg:s ..dosent help if u do it inside the game...

lol. When it happens, open your console and type /com_hunkmegs <enter>.

You will prolly see it's not set to 256 or more. So just remove all your old crappy configs (including the one in baseq3) and try again

If this is not the case: then sorry, we need to look further

Age old problem with the mod and q3

I was able to go into the baseq3 file with notepad and change it from 56 to 256...It works......Is 256 the best setting or is a higher better for gameplay ?

Extracted the zip to my q3 directory.....I enter Urt through the Q3 mod menu. Still get this message. Should I get the exe. instead of the zip file ? Would really like to checkout this new version, but this is a bad start for mer so far.

that's what i did using the .zip MOD version:

create a folder named q3ut4 into your q3 folder
unzip the release files into it
create a shortcut of your q3.exe
right click on it and into the destination field add +set fs_game q3ut4 so it will look like "C:ProgrammiQuake III Arenaquake3.exe" +set fs_game q3ut4
use this shortcut to lunch urt directly cuz goin through q3 mod menu could cause problems
go into urt,configure your graphics,binds etc and then drop the console and write "writeconfig chooseaname.cfg" without "" (i'd choose autoexec.cfg)
quit the game,open you .cfg file with a text editor,search for "com_hunkMegs" and put 256 as value

If you start without a q3config.cfg (both in q3ut4 and baseq3), it should automatically set 256.
