it's not supported on the default iourt binary for windows; if it is, one has to just down openal from its site and use s_useopenal 1. /s_info shows the system being used (if it's just a few lines of numbers it's basic q3 system)

can you compile a 64bit version of the library? we may eventually be able to use it.

(well, it's already possible to compile an 64bit ioq3 though qvm compilation is not supported yet, only dlls and qvm interpreted).

Now we do have a 64bit client for windows: http://forums.urbant...00 (it has actual qvm compilation)

Christophe, any chance you could release the 0.22b source?

Sell some licenses to game developers yet? I hope you're still chasing after that! =]

Unfortunately, I get constant crackling with OpenAL.

And I can't say I'm a fan of iKalizer, sadly. I didn't notice the unbalanced sound problem (I believe Mitsubishi's EXE fixes that, yes?); my problem with it is what I call the "Counter-Strike effect": sounds to either side sound like they're much farther away than they are. This is how CS1.x always sounded to me, and I never could stand it. Aside from that, though, it sounds amazing. I'd use it if it weren't for that one issue. (Anyone know a fix?)

Otherwise it's the old, blunt, flat sounds for me!

If you're using speakers, I don't think you'll benefit as much from ikalizer. It really shines with headphones. If you're using headphones, give 0x25 a whirl. I used 0x21 for about a year (I'm guessing) and really liked it, and the switch to 0x25 took some getting used to but I much prefer it.

Is it really good? Initially I found it more chaotic; informationally-wise.

Unless you mean strictly aesthetically; it might be better in that clearly.

I've tested several modes side-by-side (0x21, 0x22, 0x25, 0x26) with good quality Sennheiser headphones and something I really noticed is that if an enemy is to your left or right, 0x26 is superior at indicating their exact direction and separating the sounds accurately.

Would be cool if devs decided to go to 44kHz sample rate, assuming they have taken their audio clips at 44kHz.
