New to this video thing... if I hit any button while a demo is playing, the demo bails to the main UrT screen. Is there a cvar to mod that or what's the deal?

Thank you guys, I found the file, and I got the recording working (with nexu's script). Now the only problem I'm having is that there is a harsh white noise sound playing during playback. Anyone know what's going on?
This is happening to me too! I think it has something to do with the audio and frame rate not syncing or something. Not sure. Any help?
Are the 2 of you referring to audio noise during video capture or during playback of the captured video?
If your system is slow and cannot write the video frames fast enough to your storage device. You will hear audio samples being repeated while capturing.
Yea, lately i am not active playing and so i am re-releasing old videos with other old demos. So, im not concentrated when i play the demo and make the avi. Guess i care less now, i re-avid always, except last month.
These are 3 results of bad ugly sound, on my very slow 1core 800 mhz and 500 ram pc. Thats the reason i have a long break from urt.
In general: when i just have changed weapon, used the knife, fell in water, or just spawned. When i then do /video.....then i get the bad sound.
Example:

So, you dont wanna have bad sound? Time better!
Luckily, for my videos it doesnt matter much. They are short.
And in 90 procent of cases, i havent my sound on when i watch some video. Jump videos are really far way from the entertaining level. frag videos are much better, there i sometimes have music on

Yes, playback of avi files. My machine is aging now but, I doubt that it is too slow to capture UrT video. At very high frame rates yes, I run into problems. At 25 fps I would think I'd be in the clear. idk here are my specs:
Model Name: Power Mac G5
Processor Name: PowerPC 970 (2.2)
Processor Speed: 2 GHz
Number Of CPUs: 2
L2 Cache (per CPU): 512 KB
Memory: 1.5 GB
Bus Speed: 1 GHz
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 6800 Ultra DDL
Chipset Model: GeForce 6800 Ultra
VRAM (Total): 256 MB
Currently I'm running 10.5 but, I had this same problem with 10.4.
By the way, this sound problem is not the same as Driller's sound problem. I'm talking about a constant (all the way through the vid) ear bleeding static screeching that makes you rip your headphones off. I could post an example but, I feel like the above description is accurate and an example would be too much work just to achieve redundancy.
Mmm, only playing demo and press bindkey with /video. Never did something with /timescale, Genesis
All I do is written in first post by Woekele. Very easy and simple, I dont use any cfg for mini videos.
When im back to playing and i have new better pc, i will try to make a 'real' video myself and then i will have questions enough i guess. Untill then, i wont release much of importance...
I just wanted to contribute with 3 examples of bad sound while making avi -)

Is there a way to change the target destination of the .avi recording from the /video command? Such as, instead of it saving by default to the Users area, could I change the save location to another drive?
