@p5yc0runn3r: Can you add an option to select soundcard please (like iKalizer ?) ?

It's such a pain to change default soundcard before and after the game...

As I said before in this thread. dmaHD is an extension/enhancement of the default Quake 3 engine sound system. The core of dmaHD is to enhance the actual sound not to add more features.

I will check but I do not promise...

I understand.
It would be cool if you managed to add this option for the game in general.

I'm surprised no one else asked for such a feature. In general, the default soundcard in Windows is your speakers. I don't think it's common to have a headset as default device.

TIA for your efforts.

@p5yc0runn3r: I have noticed major lags with your last build; those lags were there for some events like nades (but not only). I've tried to disable DmaHD variable (off-game in autoexec), but no change.

I've tested with your previous build (without soundcard variable) and there's NO lag. I've also noticed there's a difference in size. Your previous build was nearly 2,5 MB, the last one is 1,9 MB. But maybe it's not linked at all.

The only explanation I can give is that the latest build is compiled with MMX, SSE and SSE2 optimizations. What processor do you have? On my G620 it does not lag.

It's an i3-2100. I also have a SSD. The PC is quite recent and I really don't think it's a hardware problem (but who knows... recently I change from 4Go Ram to 8 Go).

Can you upload a version with the same optimizations as the previous build (the one without soundcard selector) ? Like this I'll be able to confirm if it's linked. If needed (for tests), you can HL me on IRC.
