Is there any shader code that is specifically for slowing a players speed? For instance running through 1ft deep water very slowly, or running through bushes at a more realistic rate of speed? I think I've experienced this before playing Urban Terror. There was a puddle of water that when I ran through I slowed down considerably until I was out of the water. I can't seem to find the code for this.

AFAIK, it's just shallow water that isn't deep enough to cause you to swim.

normally only a small hop... like 64-128 units..
you have to test it.

ofc for a jumpmap you can make this:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~/---------|
 _______________________/_________|
with much speed you swim i bit, which slows you down a lot(!), but you are fast enough to reach the ending "normal" platform at higher speed than norman and continue jumping.
just an idea. not tested it.
really? a 128 unit fall doesn't even cause any damage. A good example is deathjumps. The water is a mere 8 units deep, and you can jump from the rather higher parts of the map into the water without retaining damage. I'm not sure, but it seems that if the player is partially submerged in the water at all, no fall damage occurs on impact.
For damage to be stopped by water, it has to be deep enough for the spashing sound to trigger. I think that's 8 units.
