If you have access to the pc and your copy of urt works on your game pc, just copy and paste the quake3 folder to the server box. Quake3 writes nothing to windows or anything, so you can move it around hard drives all you want, your not going to hurt it.

Myself I have two working copies on two seperate hard drives, that way of the main gets damaged or goes down. I have my backup copy. I run the same files on my linux server.

Downloading and reinstalling, etc. etc. etc. why make it so hard on yourself.

So I did all that, and tried to just play the game, and got the same error on that machine.

you must have a damged pk3 file. Remove all update pk3's and start just 3.0. If the error is gone, then add 3.1 and check. If the error shows up replace 3.1 if not go on to 3.2, etc.

It works now, I dled new install files for urban terror
I deleted the old install patches, dowlnoaded the 3.5 full install and the 3.6 patch. After I installed, everything worked fine.
