I was wondering how you people using linux have made it more convenient as an urban terror game machine
Personally I have xchat linked with xqf so it displays what server I'm heading for if I double click it in xqf.
In xchat when I select a server IP spammed by some NNscript users I can send the url to urban terror so it starts up and goes to that server.
Just wondering what other people might have come up with in this style.

I hate xchat, I hate sounds and infos on iirc that somebody goes to play (color use).
I'm an old fasion epic guy, so I don't use any of this fancy scripts.
What I have is only xqf with geoIP support included (to see in which country server is phisically placed). And TeamSpeak of course

Which one did you port? The old ut_sounds (2.x version) or utsounds3? I'd be willing to do and xchat port if I had any idea how. All I would really need is to have a look at the script you made for the port.

of course i can send u my files
think im gonna catch u on irc right now

Yeh i have this too. In the spanish communitty, mirc people use a script so when u join a server it displays the info. But also, when u type !ut in the irc channel, all the people who have this kind of script shows their status too.

here's one:
make a user, quake for example
set his xinitrc to run quake, and launch urbanterror.
run startx -- :1 as that user
your current desktop (ctl-alt-f7) will stay like always, and a new one will come up on VT 8, you can switch between them while play, and as soon as you quit urt, that session ends.
