But even if they should have success, I don't care very much if some schools block the sites. Because so far, we thankfully don't have a censored web (like many other countries).
Im curious if you guys at FS really are going to attend this "hearing". :) Seems more like an invitation to an interrogation... :(

Either way that panel of 12 representatives sounds pretty harsh. Hopefully, this isn't a massive witch hunt as I stated and hopefully they actually consider all of the facts regarding this video game and its history.
One thing that I'm curious about is, if Frozen Sand does not show up to defend their creation, will that negatively impact the results?

It might be note worthy that there are so many other games out there that are more violent than UrT. I wouldn't really say that UrT glorifies violence at the same level of games like Resident Evil, or Quake 2 or 3 does.

2/ The players all look alike and they respawn many times (it is not human).
3/ The graphics have a cartoon hand
4/ Players are much faster than normal human
5/ Sound of Curvestomp is not realistic (a comic hand)
6/ There is a very important teamplay that requires players to each other (medic)
7/ A kill in this game doesn't look likes a real kill (quick medic in CTF)
8/ Funstuff custom (Dragon Ball Z, Homer Simpson etc...) are totaly not realistic.
9/ This game has given rise to large communities in many countries. They speak together on many networks (with their allies and opponents). They organize LAN.
I have no other ideas yet.
I'm french, sorry about my english.
edit : "fun over realism" ;)

i can't imagine all the hundreds of thousands of people who create content that the letter addresses to are going to turn up, maybe a representative will?
i think removing blood/decapitations will only go so far... infact wouldnt that make some (severely distrubed) people think that there are no effects to shooting people.
the government should think about educating people regarding these things instead of hiding them from it. historical paranoia aside, i think they should seek advice of people who have done studies on this thing rather than who can shout the loudest and most emotionally about the subject.

Germany has notoriously been against fps games... it's probably paranoia from some of the first most popular games having references to WWII. They've had special versions of many games that removes 'touchy' subject matter from the game. i'm sure there's a wikipedia article to list the banned/changes to games in germany.
