By what i found out last night should it be possible to have the light style as entries.
There for i tried to add them in my .def file.

I DO NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR WHATEVER WHO MIGHT HAPPEN WHEN THIS IS USED.
THIS IS THE FIRST TIME EVER I HAVE TRIED TO CREATE A NEW ENTIRE.

//Light_style

//	*	*	*	*	*	*	*	*

/*QUAKED lightstyle_1 (0.3 0.9 0.4)(-5 -5 -5) (5 5 5)
-------- KEYS --------
_style1alphaGen : wave sin .5 .3 .25 1.5
_style1rgbGen : wave noise 0.5 1 0 5.37
*/

//	*	*	*	*	*	*	*	*

/*QUAKED lightstyle_2 (0.3 0.9 0.4)(-5 -5 -5) (5 5 5)
-------- KEYS --------
_style2alphaGen : wave sin .8 .3 .25 1.5
_style2rgbGen : wave square -.3 1.3 0 5.3
*/

I just tested making a map using this.
I made a plane room.
Added the light_style_1 (rightclick in the grid and light_style)
put the keys as displayed.
added 2 lights, one with style 1 and one normal.
I then compiled my map and i got a flickering light.

Following this topic with rising interest. :smile:
Do you think it would be possible to do a thunderstorm scene with lightning flashs illuminating a whole area?

Yes i do. If you downloaded and looked the the link del posted will you see it works well.
I have also made a really simple test. One room 2 lights.

It's what you need to make the lights flicker nothing else.

Even if map would be compiled, it will be fps killer.

I think i know how to do this witouth having to deal with massive fps dumping.

If you combine the flicering lights with this -> http://forums.urbant...rtalsky-skybox/
You will have to add a sky layer tough.

I'm testing this out now... If it leads to anything will i uploade what i get.

EDIT*
This will work for a lightning skybox, but it will not afect the map in any way.

If I"m right, when a light flickers. Everything that is affected by that light would have to be redrawn when the light changes. So if you have that effect applied on a global scale.....
