Hi, my question is just, if Urban Terror 4.2 will be available in a PPC-Version or will it just be available for the newer Intel-Macs?
My Mac is a Powermac G5 Quad with 8GB of RAM...

Hopefully awaiting your answer...

MC

Won't it just be a binary?
That's what it's called right?

I hope that 4.2 will come out as a Universal Binary but I'm not sure so I asked for it.

i'm in no way connected to the dev team or anything, but i've noticed a pattern of putting in a very large effort to not phase out long time players with too drastic of an update. (ex: the constant reference to the fact that we can't go prone because this isn't CoD4) however, 4.2 also has goals of improving performance graphically and otherwise, and correct me if i'm wrong, but i believe a UB would perform as well as a plain-old intel coding job. in other words...

idk

Urban Terror is a just a mod that works with the Quake3 & ioQuake3 game engine, and those are going to work on PPCs. If you read the other threads in this folder you will see the issue is more about whether or not it will work on Intel Macs, what with the unofficial optimized-for-intel/64-bit builds being offered.

Were the ioQuake3 team decide to move on to developing the engine for Intel-only you could still run UrT on a PPC Mac using an older build.

No those are all valid questions because nobody confirmed if they will disallow certain clients with the AC or not.

? FS still hasn't make an official statement about that yet? I personally thought it was pretty clear that to have FSP support you would need their client binary (server/client model).

dunno. that's what i assume too but i don't know if they will allow other binaries or if they will have the client-server apps of the AC/Passport separate etc.

they won't give up many (security)'secrets' imo, if they say those mechanics about it.
