Smachine and Frankie V have teamed up to produce the French FR-F1 sniper rifle as a replacement for the aging Remington SR8.

Smachine is responsible for the new paint job where the modeling and shading needs were handled by Frankie V with the help of BladeKiller.

OMFG I see a shit storm coming
/me quickly goes to the store to buy vital supplies (popcorn) because this is going to be a good one.

RAGE ON!

after reading the complete article; I like the .44 Magnum, looks great. The k-bar looks kinda like a stiletto, I expected it to have a broader blade. The SR8 is up there with the LR300 when you're looking at the favourite weapons for most players. The FR-F1 sniper rifle will have a tough time replacing it. Now if you'd say it were to replace the psg I'd understand. But as always change won't be taken positively and couple of months later you don't hear anybody about it.

Thanks for the update FS.

So...changing the old "camo hunting gun" with a ak47 with scope and huge damage ?
Now thats a good ideea. <----sarcastic

I really hoped you guys will do a much nicer, old classic sniper[guess i made a mistake there...old and classic ?]
Like a cheytac,or even an awp.

Dont get me wrong,it looks nice and all...
But not as nice as i wouldve imagined it.

Edit, cause i just read the news.
Ok...heres what i see "wrong" at the new sniper rifle.
I have no ideea how its called in english...but its that thing on top of the sniper barrel.I think its called "iron sight" ?

What is it doing there?
Are you guys planing on transforming the Sniper into a straight fire weapon ?
Cause that thing could block the view of the scope.

This is gonna turn out into a bad thing...i just know it will...

It's accurate, the real weapon looks like that.

I think the models look good and all, but I'm seriously starting to wonder if the Dev Team isn't losing itself in adding all these new things. I'm not saying new things are bad, but they do cost a lot of time and might upset the balance more than is good for the game.
Currently, my opinion is that only a few minor tweaks to weapon balance and obviously a functioning anti-cheat are the things this game needs most. I don't see why new weapons are necessary (another handgun when the Beretta hardly ever gets used anymore, another automatic when there's already a bounty of choices).

Wouldn't it be better to implement the very necessary changes in the next version (4.2), and work on the more cosmetic and "luxurious" updates (for a 5.0 maybe) in the knowledge that the game is healthy?

I'm not trying to criticize the work itself at all, I'm just wondering if the dev team isn't taking on too much unnecessary work that might needlessly slow down the release of more desperately needed features?
