Hey guys, I purchased a UT server from http://www.gameservers.com/ and joined the IP provided through the control panel in the game. Server works but how do I modify the game types/time and such for the server.

I tried creating my own server earlier but didnt go so well. I know through the server.cfg you can configure these settings but how do I do that for a rented server.

Same way, edit the server cfg and upload to server files through FTP.

It's not working. In my ioUrTded shortcut i have the following target

"C:\Program Files\UrbanTerror\ioUrTded.exe" +dedicated 1 +set net_ip 68.232.174.109 +exec server.cfg

which points to the ip of the server. In the server.cfg i entered the password of the private game and the rcon password but i get this message returned:





Any ides if i should be entering something else in?

Thanks, I've read that thread previously and installed big brother bot but I don't understand what the program is asking me. I don't have much of a programming background.

I just want to upload the server.cfg to the rented server and play. I am surprised at how complicated it is.

Got it working, thanks for your help everyone. I followed these steps:

If you are unfamiliar with ftp, please check out this thread in our forums about ftp:

For your game server, your ftp login information is located in your members area by clicking info next to your subscription.

I recommend downloading and use fire FTP, which is an addon for firefox. You will be able to right click on your FTP link found in your members area Info section and open it with fire FTP, and from there you will be able to upload your config.

worked great after i uploaded the new mapcycle.txt and server.cfg and then restarted the server. Thanks guys!

Easiest way is through IE. As crappy as it it it's simplest for this kind of stuff and doesn't require additional plugins.

Filezilla or if you have Linux goto PLACES > CONNECT TO SERVER then enter in the FTP info. (Fedora anyways).
