Voting ended with Picola and Rylius tied up with 7 each. Good going everyone, hope everyone is able to participate in the next one.



It's now past the deadline for the 9 day challenge all around the world. It looks like we have five final entries. As mentioned in the original thread, anyone who completed the challenge get three votes, anyone who particpated (but did not finish) gets two, and anyone else who happens to be keeping up and cares to vote has a single vote.

You may either post your votes in this thread, or PM them to me, and I will update this post with the tallies.

A few Screenies of each bridge would be nice ;) Personally I would vote for Picola's Bridge :D

Rocket:
- Nice recreation from pic, though it appears scaled down.
- I'd love to see it with lighting, though the rotation is definitely out unless speed is fixed in future versions of UrT.
- Crashes using bumpy version. Not a detraction, just a note.


Picola:
- Nice bridge detail and atmosphere, bumpy water and tree leaves are a nice touch.
- Ambient noise (crickets) would be a good addition.
- Terrain is good though smoother shadows and better textures and blending would enhance it.
- Missing texture under bridge.
- Roof is free floating.
- Consider func_pendulum (small and slow) for the hanging lights from bridge and trees.
- Consider func_bobbing for the items in the water.
- Water lights don't have tops - make the top playerclip and for the bottom/sides add 'cull disable' to the shader.
- Bridge lights - for the sides add cull disable to the shader.
- Trees are hovering.
- Terrain breaks.


Rylius:
- Nice bridge detail and atmosphere, particle effects are solid, fire is nice even though it doesn't singe me like it should. :happy:
- Water foam shader around rocks is interesting - blur the image some more or rework it to make it more like an eddy.
- Terrain structure is great though blending would enhance it.
- Nice effect when falling in the water.


Vendetta
- Interesting brick work, especially with bumpy.
- Would have liked to see it with the missing textures, can you post those?
- Concrete ties are a nice touch.


Drewfin:
- I love the scale and would love to be able to run up the cables (mini player clip steps)
- Great architecture
- Excellent bumpy water, though it becomes violent under normal UrT
- Clouds are an interesting choice



All entries demonstrate the thought and effort behind these creations so kudos to all. If I had two votes, it would be for Rylius and Picola (guess I should have entered though I had no time to work on it :biggrin: ). Though both bridges were small in scale and complexity, the excellent environments brought each to life. My vote is for Rylius as it is slightly more polished.

Also, I want to see pss9's map. He made some great progress.

I did spend hours playing with the terrain texture blender on a test map with varying degrees of success but given what the height maps were doing to radiant I didnt want to risk the map. But I will play with it some more and may put it on the bridge map once im confident that I can do it right :happy: Thank you for all the other comments and suggestions, id like to still play with this little map, it does have ambient sound though

I would love to see pss9s map too, it was looking good.
we make your maps so you dont have to.
