Isn't this crappy tool capable of true multi-monitor working or what? What a puny fucking shit program. I can't believe it. Every time I press a mouse button while on secondary screen it (the pointer) jumps back to the center of the primary screen. WTF? I cannot work that way. AAAAAaaargh. Softimage is a 100 times more complicated, but a 100 times easier to use. Bugged little piece of shit GTKRadiant is.

I've never had a problem with GtkRadiant and multi-head machines. Sure you're not doing something wrong? ;-) Kidding. Here's my list of questions:

OS?
Vid Card?
Drivers?
GtkRadiant Version?
Window Manager? (if you don't know, don't worry)

OS? Win XP (buggy) / Gentoo (not buggy, but not operable at the moment)
Vid Card?
ATI Radeon 9700 pro
Drivers?
Omega latest
GtkRadiant Version?
latest 1.5.0
Window Manager? (if you don't know' date=' don't worry)[/quote'] Ultramon

Side notes:
- usability of GTK sucks balls
- documentation is way behind release
- application has some serious flaws under win (especially when in layout mode 2)

I've never used GtkRadiant under Gentoo, should try it one of these days. What's this "Softimage" you're talking about? I've never heard of it.

That seems almost overkill. Granted, I was drooling while looking at it, but for Q3 it seems too much. Maybe for models and such, but for a map, no. Maps are brush based, XSI is most defintely not.

I'll forgive GtkRadiant for its shortcomings for now.

Granted, GTKRadiant has not even close to as many purposes as XSI. But that software makes you just drool all over once you laid hands on it. It's just one of the best designed pieces of software I have ever seen. Usability is sky-rocketing high and stability overwhelming. Modular, fast and reliable. Simply incredible software. That guy was my boss there. Always on the run, always racing, tight deadlines and always under pressure...
