Hey, anyone know of a way to minimise the quake window, like you can in windows?

Minimization/iconification and the like are a function of the window manager/desktop you're using.

drop down the console to free your mouse pointer

I'm using KDE, with the default WM. I don't recall the console freeing my pointer? I'll try it when i get home.

Usualy it's "ALT and the ENTER key" at the same time. but....
depending on your Window Manager (kwm,gwm,xwm,mwm,etc..)
most modern desktops you can configure each and every "hot-key"

ALT ENTER switches between fullscreen and windowed. freeing the cursor by dropping the console will only work in windowed mode.

Ahh.... I tried alt-tab, b/c that usually brings up the task manager thing in KDE when not in Q3... Ill see what my minimise shortcut is tonight. Thx

I made a shortcut in KDE to minimise window (CTL-F5) work in kde, except with Q3... I tried it with and without the console showing... Can you guys minimise your q3 when its fullscreen?

i play windowed all the time, so i just drop down the console which frees my mouse cursor. then i can do with the window whatever i want, like minimizing, moving, etc.

This why I play windowed. As for minimizing from fullscreen, I don't think you can.
