[*]iKALiZER has many settings to have lower sound quality vs better FPS.
[*]iKALiZER runs on a separate core/processor in its default configuration and leaves the other core to run UrT.
[*]iKALiZER is heavy on the second core/processor.
[*]dmaEX is just a small extension to the base sound system and thus gives virtually the same FPS as default but sound quality is nearly same.
[*]dmaHD gives high quality 44Khz sound on the same core that UrT runs.
[*]dmaHD can be made to run on a second core/processor (given time to develop) and will 'hide' that it lowers FPS.

Ok, I see there are many settings involved. So I rerun the timedemo again. This time using mitsubishi's Nov 14th build. OpenAL settings are default (I assume it's on high sound quality). It seems like my laptop does not have hardware accelerated openal (some kind of Realtek HD on-board). iKalizer settings such that SMP is not used, replacement sound samples are not used, ChannelMode = 0x21 (Hybrid HRTF) and the sound sampling frequency is 44Mkhz. dmaHD settings are defaults. I am still getting something like this with my timedemo:
dmaHD: 58.4 FPS
OpenAL: 72.3
iKalizer: 71.7
If I have time, I'll try to actually play with dmaHD to hear the actual sound quality.
