problem i have is that it would crash on startup, then after deleting my q3config.cfg the game would start, i then changed all my settings, played for awhile, then quit, the next time i tried to play it crashed again :(, in order to fix i would need to delete my config again :(

Well well I think I should put the config size back to default of 64KiB...

The sound seems a bit sensitive, like maybe the distancing is wrong. For example on Turnpike from Red spawn I can hear sounds from Blue spawn as if they are very close to me. I was doing a 1v1 and kept thinking he was close when he was on the other side of the map.

If you have sound card enhancements like 'loudness equalization' then that could be a problem. Try to turn off any sound card enhancements.

The more I play with dmaHD the better it sounds. The deep sound of nades exploding behind you is beautiful. I still notice the artifact noises when stuff are done with speed but it's not irritating.

I don't have that feature enabled, and I get UrT sounds through a USB headset anyway so my soundcard settings won't affect it.

Yes a USB headset is in its own a sound card. So there are separate settings for that. But please explain better what you are saying that is irritating you.

I'm not sure how else to describe it but I will try.
The sound-volume of things at a distance seems to me to be too high; sounds on the other side of the map sound like they are much closer.

Actually the volume of very far things goes to zero very fast since dmaHD uses logarithmic attenuation. Are you sure dmaHD is being used? :)

New update:
  • Command buffer back to 128KiB
  • Fixed a bug in dmaHD.
  • Now using the High Performance Timer.

See the first post of this topic for more details.

Please leave feedback about dmaHD most importantly.
