Hello,

Using two Ubuntu Karmic machines, both wireless. Connecting to an UT server. Cannot have both machines connect at once. Is this probably because they are same IP?

I'm not very network savvy, I generally just go with default configurations. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
CH

Yes. It really depends on your router. I mean the thing, whatever is doing the Network Address Translation.

If you can't connect with 2 machines it means that your router isn't "translating the port". It's keeping the port that the clients behind the router are using. This isn't necessarily bad, it's just one way of doing things.

To solve the problem, use the net_port, luke.

/net_port 27970

... in the console of one of the machines.

^ If it translates the port it's probably one of those that would bug 2 servers sending heartbeats.

Okay, so is this a command I type in to the machine (i.e. terminal), or in the console of UT?

Thanks,
CH
