The CMM Mapping Contest which was posted in the News is now in the Voting Time!
The Vote Thread is over here, but you might have a Look at the Submissions first or? heh
There is a Total of only 3 Submissions, which YOU could change in future contests!
The First Submission is by DagF (TOPIC)
It's a Urban Terror 4.1 Map as it seems (but I didn't get it loaded - z_malloc)
He had Issues with his Submaterials through modelling with Sketchup, but the Screen looks like it would be really good.
You can Download ( ut4_gronland.pk3 ) the Map over here (hosted at Google Docs) (4.2 MB)
The Second submission is by HappyDay and is in my opinion really Good. (TOPIC)
It worked well with Urban Terror 4.1 there are no Bumpmaps or such included in the .pk3 but I don't think it will fail to load on UrTHD if you wanna test it out.
As I understood the Map is made out of many models which were done in Blender, and the Models look pretty Good.
The Map itself may be small as it's only a single room but the Details on the Models and Textures and such get defenitely a big +
The Download ( ut4_chiefoffice.pk3 ) is hosted on HappyDay's Personal Webspace. (46.6 MB)
The Third Submission is by me (v3nd3tta), and it's my first Urban Terror HD Map I'm releasing. (TOPIC)
You can load it in Urban Terror 4.1.1, however some Images might be missing, so Defenitely Try it out on HD.
I've Coded some Events in the Map using the Q3A Electronics.pdf Manual, It's really great.
Also NulLs FS Particle Studio helped me really out to get those Flame, Sparks & Smoke Shaders looking right.
You can Download ( ut4_parkpolice.pk3 ) at my Personal Webspace (29.0 MB)
Defenitely you should Head over to CMM and Vote for your Favourite :)
Also don't forget to comment on the Threads :)

O nice post with a lot of good info, vendetta.
Condoleances to Ditto/DagF xD
And chance of a walkthrough video of each map?

The maps are basically small portions with where we asked from contestants to devote time to details.
So it would be quite short videos, but all the contestants included download links to their maps so you can see it first hand how it looks like.

Hey guys!
Great work everyone, thanks for your efforts and good luck on winning the contest!
DagF, I feel sorry for your problems with the map, must be very frustrating! Change this feeling into motivation to make a great and playable map out of your work, so it doesn't feel like a waste of time :-)
v3nd3tta, good use of lighting, good atmosphere and I especially like that your map tells a story (attack on police station). What I'm missing though, as Rayne already mentioned, is a stronger indication of the contest motto. From the screens themselves its not clear that this is a police station we're looking at.
HappyDay, I just love the details of this map. Every room in every map should have at least as much detail and thought put into it, like this one (When I see a plain empty, meaningless room in a map --> facepalm!). Imo the light and mood could have been a bit stronger, something like afternoon sun through the window shades, or light from a computer screen that lights the room, etc... And the icing would have been some story telling like v3nd3tta, I imagine a fallen over chair, donut and coffee cup on the floor, Alarm light glowing, and whatnot. But that might be to much to ask for :-D
Would have loved to participate. Hopefully next year! And it would be great to see some contributions from Rayne and JohnnyEnglish next time!

I will be participating in the next competition, I'm really looking forward to it. rayne and <|MTC|>gsigms and I have been very busy working on another project which I'm sure will be announced soon, we built a complete map in just over a week... which was fun?
I'm very proud of all those that first entered and then completed the first CMM mapping competition, I'm finding it difficult to choose who to vote for, in my opinion all entrants deserve praise and reward for the effort they put into their entries.
dag tried something new, to push boundaries and learn new techniques - that he ran out of time and used shonky sketchup is sad but at least he's learned something new, his map has a lot of funny little details.
v3nd3tta made the first 3rd party map just for urtHD.. that I know of - he worked on Linux and added some very cute effects, I shall be looking more closely at his work. That he did this in a month is outstanding.
HappyDay created a beautiful scene, richly detailed and oozing quality, so many small details made me smile - which is no surprise, his jump tutorial is one of my fave maps ever... apart from the cones near the end.
So, well done everyone - fingers crossed for you all - I'll see you in the mapping arena next time.
