Alright so I am new to vista.... I downloaded urt. I ran urban terror and it made a urban terror folder in the downloads folder. When I run urban terror I get a blue screen saying "Couldn't load default.cfg" What is the solution to this?

It can mean there was a problem with the installer which caused one of the files to be corrupted. Try re-downloading the game from a different mirror.

It sounds like you extracted 4.1.1. Download 4.1.
Sorry, Caps-Lock broke there for a minute.

New problem guys.... Ok, so I downloaded urban terror 4.1. And it lets me install urban terror but when I am in game it says couldn't write to q3config.cfg.... So none of my settings get saved.... I tried installing the files in my saved games folder and in app data..... Where should I install it to? Or is the problem with my computer? It's running Windows vista Home Premium 64 bit.

if you don't have the IoUrban Terror.exe in the folder where you instaled the game it gives you that error, so if for example you copy and paste the IoUrban Terror in your desktop instead of creating a shorcut you get "couldn't write to q3config.cfg" error, maybe?

that doesn't seem to be the problem.

It's probably a security permissions problem, which you can fix by right-clicking on your UrbanTerror folder (where you installed the game), clicking Properties, going to the Security tab, clicking the Edit button, and selecting Allow for all groups and user names - you only need one of them but it's easier to select them all than to figure out which one you need. Then just click the OK buttons and it should work.
The above instructions are for Windows 7 but should be very similar on Vista.
