Red White and Blue player display Rate Topic: -----

I am using Fedora 16 on a 64 bit system. I installed Urban Terror from the repository but I couldn't seem to set up an Urban Terror server from my machine, so I downloaded UrT from this sites downloads page and installed it.
When I ran the binary everything appeared to work correctly but for some reason the top display has a red white and blue background and further I can't join any online matches. i can join the server and spectate, but I can't join the blue or red team. I have no idea what to do.

This happened on another machine once before and what I did to fix the issue was a complete new download and then run the install from the new download and it fixed the problem.

My issue with doing that is I am now on a slower connection and this will be the third time in a week I have downloaded the 1 GB of data for UrT. Getting sick of that.

Is there a fix I am missing? Help!

In TS and Bomb mode you have to wait for the round end to enter the game.

Compare the md5 checksum after the download and make an backup of the zip file.

1. Ok, that makes sense.

2. This was in ctf not TS or Bomb mode.

3. I'll check md5sum. I should have thought of that.

Update:

I ended up reinstalling via the package manager. I can't seem to make the UrT packages (verified with the md5sum) work.

I can't set up a server on this machine, but next weekend when I play, I will run a server only on a separate machine.

I have exactly the same issue on Arch Linux 64-bit and UT version 4.11, looking into it.

Hi, problem all new system linux, new xorg and driver gpu, new ubuntu 12.04 same problem, fedora same problem, arch same problem, download Urbanterror zip, unzip and start and BUG red white and blue background.

No problem UrT but problem linux new system xorg, evdev, sdl, etc etc BUT all new system, install game repositar, Ubuntu PlayDeb or Arch pacman and all ok :-)

Yea screen game no play no setting nothung only play demo LOL or connect server use terminal but no join play game

UNZIP game NO but INSTALL REPO GAME and OK lol very funy

OTHER bug new all system linux (ubuntu 12.04, arch etc...) Mouse wheel not responding while moving mouse, xf86-input-evdev and xorg-server BUGy i send bug... https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/29191

I am having the same problem as the rest and ValSiN screenshoots are like what I was going to upload,

Ubuntu 11.10 x64 worked fine upgraded to 12.04 last night and I now get this. (fresh install is not an option at this time)

The screen shot ValSiN posted is what I get when I run the .i386 the x86_64 I can get to load but have no "hud" and goes to full screen console.
I can connect to a server but once again no hud. After joining a team I feel lagged out and wepon change is really slow
I have reinstalled my ia32 packages & sdl lib's
I'm at a loss on where to go next
