Ok...long story how this all started-
Was playing a server, the server goes to a map I didn't have and asked to autodownload- Then its says it can't autodownload because of "404 FILE NOT FOUND"<- I think the autodownload link is ether dead or not there anymore... So, I go online and download the map that way...

Now I've put it into the q3ut4 folder and it will still not load...

Map: ut4_bridge_rc3

File downloaded name: ut4_bridge_rc3.zip

I think I have to "SOME HOW" make the folder into a .pk3 folder if I'm correct...But I don't know how...

rename the file extension to .pk3

Right click the file and rename it to ut4_bridge_rc3.pk3
pk3 files are just renamed zip files. :-)

Edit:
That could be usefully in case your OS tries to hide the file extension from you.

After a some difficulty, I was finally successful in installing the map.

the problem is caused by the browser you use.

some browsers detect the "MIME" type as .zip and automatically change the file extension as a correction feature, others warn your about the extension being different and others just download the file in the form it was sent in.
