I have made 100's of servers on linux. But on a recent VPS on CentOS 5

Downloaded UrT from iourt.com extracted it did the chmod. Edited server.cfg.

Everything fine till now!

then i run the ioUrTded.i386 it doesn't echoes anything except this :
ioq3 1.35urt linux-i386 Jan 28 2009

its not an error the server successfully started up on localhost if you want it to be dedicated and public you need to execute it with

./ioUrTded.i386 +set dedicated "2" +set net_ip "external_address_here"

It looks like you forgot to add the +exec server.cfg to the command line. Am I wrong ?

by the looks of it the server binary ran the q3config file, but no doubt there wasn't certain server variables changed to meet the players needs
