If anyone is interested I am happy to report that Urban Terror 4.1.1 looks phenomenal on the 2012 Retina MBP. It runs at >60fps the vast majority of the time at 2880x1800, even in combat. Very playable. This is the higher end model, but it should be fine on the lower MBPwRD as well. The interface and HUD look surprisingly perfect as well, and no AA/AF is needed to smooth jaggies etc. UrT is much better behaved than TF2 in general, which is entertaining.
I have to say it is still a good deal slower than my desktop (GTX 560 Ti), which at 2560x1440 stayed above 125fps even with NVIDIA forced 8xAA and 8xAF on Ubuntu (pre-Unity).
It is good to be back after a few years off. UrT never played well enough on my 2010 MBA 11" and Unity screwed everything up on Ubuntu.
