1. If you set dmaHD_Enable to 0 and restart urban terror, does it do the same?
2. Check that you do not have the CVARS in autoexec.cfg resetting your values back to bad values.

1. Works fine with disabled dmaHD (dmaHD_enable "0").
2. Nope.

This is the system issue, not q3 engine.
I had sound problems in other applications.

Thanks for your time, but changing CVARs will do nothing.

quake 3 doesn't use any CODECS
and oi runner can you put up a league build that has the "sound hax" commented out
as well as a string in the userinfo IDing the build as League OK

What do you mean by "sound hax"? What "sound hax" are you talking about? This IS THE ORIGINAL dmaHD which I spent a month to do and you come here saying that this is a "SOUND HAX"!? :mad:

I think you are talking about other builds done by cheaters (B1nUrT/d1Rf_client) where the devs changed my engine and removed some sounds.

This version is the ORIGINAL dmaHD which I stress out "was developed by me" and is approved by leagues.


EDIT: The 'cheater' builds specified above (B1nUrT/d1Rf_client) have added some CVARS so that you don't hear yourself breathe, swim or use medkit, they also added CVARS to remove background music and sounds, WHICH FOR ME IS UNACCEPTABLE and I WILL NEVER INCLUDE these cheats in my engine. I love competitive play on a level playing field and that is what dmaHD is all about.

It does, cuz "The ALC662 is a 5.1 Channel High Definition Audio Codec...".

To avoid misunderstandings:

I meant hardware/drivers problem.


I know. My english isn't perfect, because i was lazy in school.

first.. i think this thread should be stickied.. it's a great system

second.. when i use this dmaHD, if i exit the game momentarily using the Win key, then go back into the game, i am left with a cursor on my screen.. i must then shut the game down and fire it back up to get rid of this..

this is happening on my Win 8 x64 machine..

i will wait for a fix.. thx!

I do not have a Windows 8 system and thus I cannot test this. It is not the dmaHD feature that is giving this behavior but the RAW mouse system (in_mouse = 2) I will see what I can do.

argh! i'm so dumb.. i had in my autoexec from a long time ago in_mouse set to 1.. this was overriding in_mouse 2!

so i took that out of my config and now there's only in_mouse 2 and so of course it works with no problem.. my bad man.. soz about that..
