Same here... Starts to load, black screen flash, and a crash. No chance to look at in-game settings.

If the issue is related to screen rez, is my fresh install picking up a previous config file? Anyone know a way to delete it?

(Late 2012 iMac 27" OSX 10.9 upgrade from OSX 10.8) EDIT: 3.4GHz i7, 1GB Fusion Drive, NVIDIA geForce GTX 675MX 1GB

Updater gives several errors as well:

1) On launch says: Could not create the assets folder (q3ut4). Please verify the user rights of this folder.
You can ask for help on the official website

2) After "Download" Button it says: The downloaded file is corrupted. Please check your internet connection and launch again the Updater.
You can ask for help on the official website: www.urbanterror.info

I have gotten those errors a lot. I've had to install 3x in the last two yrs or so and the installer seems to be very finicky - eventually, it works... somehow. I can't say for sure but it doesn't seem like a "Gatekeeper" issue (i.e. "allow apps from...").

EDIT2: I have a 2009 MacBook Pro I did a clean install of Mavericks. I tested it out and it installs and runs UT just fine.

Sure, it's working now. just seems to be temperamental...

I had tried an uninstall/reinstall, and some basic disk maintenance but didn't work. I had also tried a full system restart.

I rarely ever turn the iMac off completely but did last night. This morning it magically works again...

Maybe just a restart wasn't enough and needed a full shutdown?

Good luck guys.

It's a problem with the resolution, I used a preset resolution and it worked but when I tried 1600x900 it would crash. (using fullscreen)

Hi, Do you mean the resolution in config file or the native resolution through system preference?

Resolution in the game config file. …assuming you're in full-screen mode. I would suggest changing the line seta r_fullscreen "1" to seta r_fullscreen "0", but if you want to keep using full screen, change the r_mode to one of the presets:
Mode -1: Custom Mode (used in conjunction with r_customwidth and r_customheight)
Mode 0: 320x240
Mode 1: 400x300
Mode 2: 512x384
Mode 3: 640x480
Mode 4: 800x600
Mode 5: 960x720
Mode 6: 1024x768
Mode 7: 1152x864
Mode 8: 1280x1024
Mode 9: 1600x1200
Mode 10: 2048x1536
Mode 11: 856x480 (wide)

I checked out my config file (~/Library/Application Support/Quake3/q3ut4/q3config.cfg) but my r_mode setting was already one of the presets.

On a whim, I opened up Disk Utility and ran "Repair Permissions" on my drive. Now UT works again!

<FullDisclosure>I've not tried to run UT for a week or two since it hasn't been working. Not sure if Disk Utility actually fixed it or if it was just a coincidence.</FullDisclosure>

Hi .BluShru., may you send me your q3config.cfg? What's your iMac model? I'm trying to run UrT on my iMac Late 2013 (i5 Quad core with Intel Iris Pro video card) and it's crashing after start.

On my Macbook Pro Late 2009 works perfectly.

My e-mail is panic at dck.com.br.

Thanks!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that thread is all about Urban Terror not working on PowerPC Macs, is it not?

10.9 Mavericks doesn't run on any PPC Mac, just Intel, so that thread is completely useless to anyone having a problem in Mavericks (or 10.8 ... or 10.7 .... or 10.6... 10.5 was the last OS X to support PPC processors and it was released in 2007 😆)
