Hi,
For the last 3 weeks I've worked on a new map for the Urban Zone knockout of the week event. The map features a mansion on top of a mountain surrounded by trees. It's a small map designed for about 3 players in FFA game type. Nevertheless, all game types are supported. Comments are of course welcome.
Latest version is now in the official game.

The map was completely build in blender and exported as ase models to radiant. Except for the foliage all faces have their own unique uv coordinates which allowed me to render the light in blender and bake the shadows onto the textures. That's the reason why the file size is rather big for such a tiny map but it's also the reason why it looks so good :).

This map is beyond amazing. The looks of it, the design, the amount of hard work put into it and the play-ability of the layout (for such a small map) are absolutely impressive.
Kudos to HappyDay for another work of art.

Amazing map, technically brilliant and fun to play, I know that HappyDay made that statue by hand.

I'm amazed by all the positive feedback I've received by players and mappers alike. Thanks for all the nice comments, I really appreciate it :). I have to say I really enjoyed creating this map, never had so much fun mapping before and I can't wait to add the things on my to do list to make it even more awesome :D
Have a happy day! :)

The interview starts at 44 minuets in.
Some key points that impressed me.
1 Made in Blender
2 Baked the lighting solution into the texture maps.
Radiant was used to do the layout and I assumed use to do the simplified collision detection.
