Hey ther ,
my idea is a Airport with a 3 mainway system .
Here is a first sketch Posted Image
(on top is the top view and a side view below.)
the black is the map,
the red and blue big dot are the teamspawns
the yellow doted way are the slowest but shortest way (offices)
the yellow lines are a fast but longer way (terminal)
the yellow short lines are a middle mixed way

in the middle ,i think, are a good rushbreake point with stairs.

I hope u guys like my idea ;)

IDEA: In my complete and utter nerdiness and at the behest of a friend, I'd like to suggest a map centered around the ship from Firefly, docked on a nicely deserted and maybe even desert planet. Since I'm completely drawing/design challenged and practically can't draw a smiley face without disgracing myself and shame all my elementary school art teachers, you're getting leeched pics from me.

Not so much a design but more a feature request to be put in a map.
I've always wanted to see maps where teamwork gets brought more to the foreground. For instance that two people of a 5 man team have to move to a trigger so that a ladder somewhere will go down (for a limited time) so that the rest of the team can gain access to a location which would give them a competitive advantage. For example easy shooting without being shot.

Okay, I'm a mapmaker but I still like to sign up for this team! Wouldn't it be great to work together on this and end with a perfectly tunend final result.

The concept
The world is already in a big chaos for a long time. All arround the world small groups of people start to unite again, therefor they made special 'camps'. Like the one below, its almost similar to a castle. But this camp is special because, it completely died! Think about an abandoned western village but this one was build in this century and not a few centuries ago.

The layout
Forgot only 2 things in my legend
- The arrow thing means the direction of the stair (the striped thing below the arrow) from low to high.
- the lightly (brown) tinted fill means that it is inside.

I don't have the time and motivation to learn mapping in a way to create maps like orbital and tohunga, so I stopped years agoo after creating some test maps. But in the meantime I started to create a map in mind.
The map should meet the requirements of a 5vs5 league map, like fair spawnpoints and distances.
Here are some ideas, however those are just ideas and far away from perfect yet.

I feel Urban Terror maps have no focus on the environmental aspects of gameplay. Halls and rooms, midday, abandoned location. Blah. I'd like to see a map that has three teams - red, blue, and nature - with each competing to win.

Slugging it out on a couple of pirate ships... midday. Though, not in a standard UrT environment. ;)

So what I'd like to see for this contest is a map with severe visibility impairments and/or highly irregular terrain. Examples: A dense forest with craggy rocks (but no obvious beaten paths). Inside of a collapsed building. Rooftops of a sprawling and tight urban metropolis. The environment must be as tough of an opponent as the opposing player!

ooooh, a wily duck map :) Xmas came early, whaddaya know. I got a question, you ever gonna redo ut_temple? :D
