NationsCup 2014 Captain Application

The NationsCup has always been the high point of competitive Urban Terror but it was uncertain whether or not it would be held this year due to the problems at ClanBase. Unfortunately they could not be resolved in time. Urban Zone has stepped in and offered to host it. Sotone, the CB game supervisor, has joined Urban Zone to make sure the NC will run smoothly.

Normally the run up to the NationsCup starts in December with the captain applications however due to the issues there is now a time constraint. In order to catch up the application period is shortened to January 5th, 2014. You can find more information on how to apply as captain of your nation on the Urban Zone website.

The applications are flooding in and will be updated here. Some people might want to apply in order to challenge an application.

After the nations cup captains have been "Published" independently by Urban-Zone for the nations cup, all national team groups will be given away to the new captain.

This is not open for "Appeal" it's the same every year, the "National Team" groups are owned by the "This Years" captain. End of story :)

It is polite however to keep past captains as friends? I will let each nation decide :)

Pity that clanbase stops and great of urban-zone for hosting the nation cup. But I don't understand why this important nation cup is going to be and was hosted with 3rd party organizations.

Why is it not hosted by Urban Terror (FS)? It probably doesn't sounds like a big difference, but trust me there is. On communicative and security level there certainly is a difference.

Fleuv could you explain why there is a difference, because communication and security are topics, not explanations :)
Also it would mean that FS would have to design a competition management system, this site doesn't have that.

FS/SID has never hosted leagues and for the health of the competitive scene we don't intend to start. It is best that we leave this for the community to manage so new leagues like the ESL feel welcome.

Well last season was 24 national teams if I remember well (without some coalition like Asian or Yugoslavia), hope we will overcome this number. But I still missing Romania, Switzerland, Denmark, Austria, Greece, Bulgaria, Norway, Ireland and some traditional countries from last cup of course.
