Maybe, now it could be the moment to try a damage decrease with distance (diferent for each weapon). This could be interesting to balance the new higher precision in some short-range weapons (pistols, spas, etc) and also a little for middle-range weapons (secondaries, etc).

OFC sr8 needs penalty, don't be idiots... how u even THINK about taking the penalty off ?

The post was maybe not clear enough, but of course, the sr8 will keep some penalties.

SR8 will still have penalty when unzoomed, for some time on first zoom and on jump.

To counteract SR8, SPAS is very good at hitting the SR8 bearer for an instant unzoom.

The balance of the weapons has been thought out as short, mid and long range weapons as examples:

SPAS vs AUTO at short range, SPAS pwns.
SPAS vs AUTO at mid range, AUTO pwns.
AUTO vs SR8 at mid range, AUTO pwns.
AUTO vs SR8 at long range, SR8 pwns.
SPAS vs SR8 at long range, SPAS unzooms SR8, rush and kill :P

NEGEV is good overall weapon.
LASER reduces spread by 30%
SILENCER reduces spread by 5%

These are just examples, you just have to try this.

I don't know why you would even touch the SR8 - it's right what it should be at the moment: A niche weapon. A weapon for certain moments in the game, where you need to passively hold an angle or need entry-frags. It's not a weapon for running and gunning... You're talking about reducing the frustration of players when it comes to hits.. Imagine the frustration of a player getting instagibbed by somebody sliding by with a SR8, xd.

It would also be great if you could go into greater detail about the "prepare your skills, forget spray-and-pray"-part. This sounds a lot like consistent recoil patterns to me - not sure how I would feel about that.

The instagibbing Spas is a joke, I suppose. Heh, good one.

before getting all worked up cause they touch the weapon balance: it's a beta test, a beta TEST ... so join the test and give them feedback
if you don't like uptown, you are basically hating urban terror.
