The steam distribution thing makes me hope for the better.
I'm a perfect newbie if we speak about engines so I'll have to trust you on that :)

Hope it will come out fairily soon, can't wait.

evil prevails .. and a q3mod is turning to the dark side... the 15 year old fanboy karl would never have thought this could happen..

if we take duke nukem forever as our reference.. and this being the first enigne switch for urt hd... how many years do we have to wait presumably?
if you don't like uptown, you are basically hating urban terror.

whatever you do please try and get the physics ported properly, it's gonna be upsetting if it doesn't FEEL like urbanterror

I don't know if TTimo is still checking this board but you can read something here: https://www.facebook...153113642279625

I saw that... I can remeber one of his blog posts where he talks about engines for fast paced FPS games, though..

Quote

Renderer eye candy should never get in the way of a smooth game simulation. A sudden dip in renderer fps should never mean that you are going to miss that jump, or that your mouse handling is going to turn you around in a slightly different way than usual.
The technology foundation for a project like this is extremely important. Unity and UDK are amazing engines, but they are general purpose in nature, and they made compromises to that end which make them ill-suited.

I really hope the jump mode will be exactly the same otherwise this game will lose half of the people around it. This game is already very good, the steam platform is an awesome idea to get new people, but please, don't ruine it to be more commercial.
