yes fps is a crucial factor in playing ability.....when i made the switch from 1.2ghz celeron/128 ram/gf3 [10fps drops were too often] to something thats like 5 times faster, my skill level increased also

your overall skill wont increase, but your chance of coming out on top of a fire fight will.
