Hey everyone,

So I had a concept for a close quarters vertical CTF, TS & Bomb map based off the abandoned McBarge located in Vancouver Canada. The McBarge is the only floating McDonalds ever built and was abandoned after its appearance at Expo 89 in Vancouver.

Here are some pictures and a video of the location:

I have started by simply making a layout design. You can see the full post over at the custom map makers forum: http://www.custommap....php?f=47&t=827

Here is the basic layout of the barge: http://imgur.com/a/9D6uL

I'll probably make a quick mockup in GTK and play around with it in the current UrT before modeling the entire map in blender and then moving it over to UE4.

Cool idea.

Small and manageable.

Something you can try, as I've yet to check it out myself, is if you can use Radiant to do the facade work and import it directly into UE4 by OBJ.

If it works let me know. Save me some work.

I might do this, however I'd like to have a lot more detail than what radiant can give me. More than just bumpy textures. I'd really like to get into making this thing look as old and abandoned as it currently is. There are some places with drywall busted in and paint flaking and all kinds of stuff that would be neat to add in, so I'll probably just end up modeling it in blender.

Ok, I would have done it the other way around. I thought that a GTK unit was 1cm and the UE4 unit was 1 inch...

Ok well Progress update. Working on making textures and stuff which I will need for both a 4.3 version as well as the UE4 version. You can see my full progress update here: http://www.custommap...27&p=7620#p7620

Here are some pictures of the cool water shader I made which works for both the bumpy build as well as the vanilla build:

And here is a custom diamond plate and rusted diamond plate texture I made in photoshop and illustrator (almost completely hand made):

Well I went and made the first floor and got the scale and everything just about right. Then I went back and re-made it from scratch so that all the walls and floors are optimized and aren't going to display super terrible. I also got into messing with patch meshes and making the rounded corners on the red side of the barge.

Here was my initial texture and first floor layout test.

Here is where I'm at now, going back over the whole thing and finalizing the layout. Once I get the second floor done, I'll texture it all and try and work on the lighting.

Last post of the weekend. I'll maybe try and work on it some during the week.
