hey guys, just looking into running a windows based server off my main pc that i can just launch when i want to play with a few friends. I think i've got most of it figured out, i've set up my server.cfg with all the right jump mode commands enabled and stuff and i've put a bunch of maps into my mapcycle.txt thingo.
some things i'm confused about: 1. is the reason my server only comes up in lan because its on the same network as me? I can't really test if anyone else can connect since none of my friends are online atm.
2. can't connect to my server if im logged in with my auth, I assume this might be cause my server is already hosted on my auth or something? I get bad challenge if i try and join logged in.
3. if i run more than 12 maps in my map cycle txt the server crashes when i try and launch it.
Please don't scream at me or call me an idiot for not reading your guides or something.

well, if it doesnt come up in the online server list thats either because you have not set dedicated 2 (online) or [i]sv_master[i] is not set correctly. It could also very easily being any kind of firewall/AV software blocking you. Or no port forwarding in your router.
for the auth stuff, check auth setup guide for server admins. (also check out the other guides there)
no idea on the crash with more than 12 maps in the mapcycle. Maybe you are just missing a pk3, or have a syntax error in it?
