Can´t Start Urban Terror Rate Topic: -----

Hello everyone,
first of all I didn't play this game for like 2 years. To my time there only existed Urt 4.1.

However I wanted to play it again and I deleted everything Urt related and dowlnoaded the whole zip again + the Urt updater. Thanks to other posts here I managed to run the updater.
But if I try to start the game my screen goes dark for some seconds as it wants to open the game but than crashes. Either it closes the game automatically or I have to force close it with (cmd+alt+esc).
Now I really don't know where the problem is and it did take me some time to even come this far..
Can somebody help me pls?

system specs?

graphics drivers up to date?

No weird screen refresh rate?
No weird screen resolution?
Urt 4.x uses openGL

OS X EL Capitan Version 10.11.2
2,5ghz intel Core i5
graphic: AMD Radeon HD 6750M 512MB

And yes everything is updated...
What do you mean with weird screen refresh or solution ?

I was just thinking out loud what it might be.

Seems weird if it won't start and doesnt give you a error message.

Does your hardware have any issues when doing a gpu or cpu test?

Delete q3config.cfg and try starting game again.

@travmon I can´t find "q3config.cfg"...I can only find "server_example.cfg"

Well perhaps it's that then I can give you mine but remember it's set up for how I play the game so you might want to change some things, copy this past it into a textfile and rename it q3config.cfg:
(urt 4.2.23)

you might want to paste such things into spoilers.

also, it should be easier to execute the default.cfg ( {executable} +exec default.cfg )


BUT. the fact that you cant find your q3config COULD mean the game never successfully started (because its created on startup, based on the default.cfg)
It also could simply be in another folder, e.g. user libary,... there is a hell lot of locations it can be in, depending on your OS.
on windows 7 and lower it should be in your {install path}/q3ut4 ,if you arent running a custom built (e.g. r00ts built)
on linux and similar OS it's probably in your user path.
Sorry for my bad spelling - I am still asleep. :)
