Hey folks.

I was wondering what the system requirements for URTHD will presumably be. Obviously, we cannot know for sure right now, but I'm looking at estimates as to which systems will be able to run Urban Terror HD. I'm thinking there would still be a fairly drastic change from the current version of Urban Terrors requirements.

I doubt my laptop right now with these specs will be able to run urban terror HD:

Processor:Intel® Core™ i3-2310M CPU @ 2.10GHz
Graphics card:Intel® HD Graphics 3000
8GB ram

Ah thanks. So in theory I would be able to manage playing it, very poorly though.

You can have a look at the Unreal Engine 4 hardware & software specifications which should give you a good idea of what to expect. I can't really tell you more for now as we haven't started the work to optimize the game for poor configurations yet.

Regarding your own setup, I think that the game will run smoothly in 'low' settings but it's really too early to tell for sure.

Honestly, it won't be pleasant with the integrated GPU. You may be able to get it to run reasonably well, but you'll have to make it super ugly to do so. One of the most effective ways Unreal Engine can be scaled is by reducing the render resolution to any percentage you choose, but at some point it just becomes a blurry mess.

That is not a gaming laptop by any means, so anything more would be a miracle. I have a laptop with an i7 and HD4000 graphics, it runs games around the detail level of UrT HD but not very well to say the least. Since this is already quite a bit faster than yours, it's going to be rough.

That's what I was thinking as well. If I'm going to want to play URTHD, my best bet would be to upgrade to somewhat of a game-able laptop or computer.(At least an I5 with a decent graphics card.)

A reasonable gaming desktop wouldn't set you back much, and you could still use your laptop. Gaming laptops are fine but not very economic. :) Also nice about a "desktop as a console" is that you can start with something relatively cheap and then upgrade in the future when you are ready.

As a baseline for a desktop GPU I would recommend to look at the GTX 750ti. It's very affordable and while not awesome, it's going to be enough to play the game comfortably at low details with high framerates or high detail with low framerates (where high framerates = 100+). So when looking at other GPUs, especially mobile GPUs, I would suggest to compare the benchmark results to a GTX 750ti.

One can benchmark what they got by downloading the free Unreal Tournament 4 alpha. If your rig can run UT4 then running HD should not be a problem.
